electronics
using IoT systems
At Plum, we create electronics for effective energy management, and we want to do it remotely.
It might seem that energy management only concerns electricity and its consumption, especially with the recent popularity of photovoltaics. However, we take a broader view as our solutions manage heat energy, natural gas, air, and water. We analyze the performance of systems using our electronics and see a clear need to transfer their control to internet systems. This arises not only from technological progress but also from market needs, our customers, and end-users.
How can we combine the design and production of electronics with its development in IoT systems?
Let’s look at how IoT will be used in different industries.
IoT in the HVAC industry - plum HVAC
Our controllers allow for managing the functionalities of heating and ventilation endpoint devices. We’ve noticed how important it is to have a quick service response to any system alerts concerning a specific installation. This is made possible by connecting the controller to the IoT system.
Thus, we are implementing a new internet system, ecoNETCloud with xCloud module, which is dedicated to manufacturers, distributors, and installers of HVAC devices. Its main task is to provide remote access to service data about the installation along with the ability to remotely respond to any alerts. This reduces the need for service trips and service costs. Have you seen the installation journal? If not, check out the ecoNET Cloud video.
IoT in the natural gas industry – plum GAS
We have introduced gas meters and registers with built-in IoT communication modules to the market, providing remote data transmission to IT systems. Our solution allows for ongoing supervision over the operation of devices, eliminating the need for service or collection trips.
Devices like MacR6 – an impulse recorder, using NB-IoT, Cat. M1 (and older GPRS) technology and working in the LPWAN standard, enable data transmission about natural gas consumption to IoT systems. This gives network operators the ability to monitor systems and react to potential events in real time. Thanks to smart metering, we provide effective remote reading and billing of gas meter readings.
IoT in the water and sewage industry – plum WATER
In our offer, we have a solution for remote stationary reading of water meters, enabling automation of the water meter reading process and advanced diagnostics of the water supply network. The delivery and billing of water to end customers are handled within the IoT system from the desk of an enterprise employee.
Devices like MacIQ WM – a telemetry overlay for water meters, and MacR6 N – a data logger of water supply network parameters, have been adapted to work in the dedicated NB IoT network in the LPWAN standard, allowing direct data transmission to the appropriate acquisition system. This solution enables integration with the customer service system, providing monitoring and diagnostics of the water supply network’s operation combined with the billing system, from a single platform.
our
focus
We focus our efforts on integrating technology and IoT systems in various industries to improve energy management.
In the HVAC industry, we are introducing controllers with IoT modules, enabling remote control and servicing of heating and ventilation devices. In the natural gas sector, we offer electronics with IoT communication, allowing for remote supervision and eliminating the need for physical service visits. In the water and sewage industry, we provide solutions for remote reading of water meters and advanced diagnostics of the water supply network. Each of these solutions contributes to more effective resource management, reduced operational and service costs, and increased convenience and safety for end users. IoT perfectly combines our experience and expertise, and we plan to draw on it to the fullest extent.
